New Year's Resolutions and 2008 Goals

This year we have some major goals! My husband and I agreed that we will be debt free by January 1, 2009. We are sick and tired of this debt and I have a renewed motivation and energy toward paying off this debt! The past few months we have paid a few off, but including our car payments our grand total of debt is somewhere around $25,000. I would like to get an exact figure soon.

Here are my financial New Year's resolutions and goals for 2008:

1. Get out of debt by January 1, 2009

2. Organize and clean out house, sell as much as I possibly can for extra income towards debt.

3. Make at least $100 a month online

4. Write more articles for income

5. To not spend any money to make money

6. Take $500 of my husband's overtime pay and put it towards debt. He currently gets $500 each pay check and gets paid twice a month. I suggested taking the entire amount he gets paid in overtime (which is really a second job) and apply it towards debt, but after crunching some numbers we can't do it at the moment.

7. Apply 80% of pad sales towards debt. The other 20% goes towards supplies and fees.

8. Reduce, reuse and recycle! This will save money and help the earth. A personal goal of mine is to be more green but it will also help financially in some areas.

9. Eat out less. We have a pretty good grip on this but it could still use some work.

10. Do some monthly challenges, inspired by these blogs: Working for Financial Freedome and Arduous Blog! Once I think of one for the month of January I will post about it!

This is as many as I can think of for the moment, I'm pretty excited for the New Year and to pay off our debt. This time next year I hope to be debt free!
