Usually on Saturdays we end up spending some money. Sometimes it's just for something we need (milk, bread, etc), gas or a little treat at 7-11. But today we spent $0.00. It felt really good, but we did need some things and we did get them.
First we went to the post office so I could ship some pads I sold on Etsy (yay!), then to the bank to deposit $12 worth of checks from doing surveys. After that we headed to the library where we got some dvds: Twilight Zone for my husband and me and some Underdog ones for my son. Then my son also borrowed 2 video games for his Gamecube and a book. My husband got a book on computers that he'll need for his training at work. The library is a fantastic place!
We needed some trash bags and CVS was next door, so I used some of my extra care bucks to get trash bags, another paper, 2 drinks for my "dying of thirst" son and daughter, plus a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I even got back a $2 ecb and CVS coupon.
On the way home we made a stop at Big Lots and got my husband a new pillow (just $3!) and we stocked up on some cereal for him. Big Lots had a TON of cereal, I swear, I've never seen so much cereal in one place! David has to eat a lot of fiber because of his condition (diverticulosis) and they had Kashi cereal (which is pretty expensive) for just $2 a box. We also got some Capri Sun for my son at a deep discount. We hardly buy them because they're expensive but they were only $1.60 and my husband also got some energy drinks. I found a computer game called "Westward" and we paid only $16 for everything but with a gift card! I returned my daughter's kitchen that we got her at Christmas there (it fell apart!) which we later replaced with a better one at a different store and they gave us a gift card for the return.
Not a bad day at all!
